Just a Posse 2 U.K.C FC 5 (19/12/2004)

Just a Posse slumped to their first defeat in 5 games losing 5-2 to rivals U.K.C FC. The result ends the Posse's four game winning run and means that JAP slip to third in the table.

Yet again JAP had injury problems. We were without the services of Dan, Gaff, and Pete H, meaning that team selection was pretty straightforward: Anyone who wants to play plays. Luckily the ever reliable Croft brothers stepped in at last minute to relieve some of the pressure - much appreciated! We also welcomed back JP and John Whitten - both in fine form!

The game started badly for the Posse as U.K.C raced to an early 3 goal lead. Collectively, the Posse were struggling to find their rhythm and passes were often failing to reach their destination. Despite this, the Posse kept working hard and were unlucky not to be level at half time having struck the post twice. Rossi also missed his customary 'sitter' after a through ball from Dave.

Despite an admirable work rate, the Posse never really got going in the second half and were again on the back foot. Suspect refereeing also didn't help the Posse cause, although on reflection 5-2 was probably a fair result. Dave got both Posse goals to extend his season total to 12.

Classic moment: Frustrated with the peformance unfolding in front of him, John 'JJ' Whitten decided to take matters into his own hands and set off on a blistering run. Having done all the hard work (beating all 4 outfield oppenents), JJ's shot just missed the far post!

MoTM: John Whitten (On his debut: replaced 'super chubby' in goal and made some good stops and some good runs!)
Team: John, Bert (C), Ross, Harry, Pete C, Dave C
Posse Attendance: 1
