| WELCOME
TO THE TEAM 26 WEBSITE
Hope you find
this site useful. Its only about 10 weeks late! We finished the
lecture series on the last day of term (15/03/2002). I guess
this means that 'the game' has finished too. Anyone know for
sure? If it has then we have survived as a business.
Saw the drawings (thanks Dave). Definitely the sort of thing I
had in mind! Looks good. Have been looking at the possible costs
involved in making one. I contacted Photo-Me (manufacturers of
photo booths) and asked them about costs but didn't receive a
reply. Obviously the computer software and hardware would push
up the price. £50K each (selling price)?
Have also been
working on a flash 'movie' that demonstrates the sort of user
interface required. Not sure if we'll have the facilities to run
it during the VC presentation. Anyway, I'll put a copy on here
when its done.
CURRENT
WORK
As I understand
it we have two crucial pieces of coursework to prepare:
1) Business
Plan. To be submitted soon after Easter.
AND
(assuming we are asked back for it)
2)
Group Presentation (individually assessed). Final week.
The
above work will account for the majority of our unit marks. Piece
1 needs to be of a high enough standard to suggest that we are
worthy of giving a presentation.
BUSINESS
PLAN
A
reasonable(?) business plan is outlined below.
-
Contents
- Executive Summary (Summary of the whole plan)
- Business Background (Achievements etc)
- Aims and Objectives
- Products and Services
- The Market
- Marketing
- Sales
- FINANCIAL PLAN
- Opportunities and Threats
- Timetable and Deadlines
- Appendices

Plan IT Business Plan 3.1
The program covers each section in a fair amount of detail. Not
sure that the structure should be followed too closely but
it gives us some idea of what is required.
The
financial plan will require the spreadsheet figures (the
predictions for the next three years). Other programs are
available on the Web (download.com - search for Business Plan).
They might be worth looking at too.
If
we can agree on who will attempt (or at least look into certain sections over
the Easter break,
then we should have something fairly solid to go on when we have
our first meeting after the hols.
PRESENTATION
- A CHANCE TO SHOW OFF
Need
to be on top form for this! I'm guessing that we will have access
to PowerPoint etc. If not we'll have to use big pieces of paper!
We all have to speak and no doubt we'll have some pretty tough
questions thrown at us! Details we can discuss when we get back.

was unfairly critical regarding the work in general. It was
apparently the 'wrong' move too. Well, we got 5000 for it - you
wont see me complaining! It also means we've got a fair amount of
background information that could be useful for the preparing the
presentation!
DECLINED
WORK Venture
Capitalist slide presentation. On basis that we were reluctant to
get involved with another company given current commitments. REJECTED
Technical
Analysis. Agreed that an understanding of the technical issues
involved is crucial and would need to be discussed. No significant
sums being offered. Company fairly comfortable financially. REJECTED
Television
Interview. Could attract negative publicity. Although we are
very keen to raise awareness, the current sensitivity surrounding
airport security probably made it a wise decision to 'shy'
away from the media. REJECTED
